Looking for a way to get involved in education?

Another year has come to a close here at Chicago Tech Academy High School, but that doesn’t mean we stop supporting our students. We’re proud to announce we’re being backed by a partnership with the Illinois Tech Association (ITA) and G2 Crowd to raise $100,000 for the school.

G2 Crowd will donate $10 for each complete and verified review added to their special ChiTech campaign website between Thursday, June 22nd and Monday, July 31st. The company is looking to achieve 100 reviews from employees at 100 different companies during the campaign to meet that fundraising goal.

Breathing New Life Into the Tech Pipeline

The funds will be used to support ChiTech in meeting the year’s $500,000 fundraising goal to ensure students continue to receive the same high-level education including project-based learning, real-world learning opportunities, STEM education and entrepreneurial initiatives the school has become known for in Chicago and throughout the country.

“This type of support is a game-changer for ChiTech and its students,” Kelly Jones, executive director of community engagement, said.

“It’s innovative. It’s easy and impactful. My hope is that everyone makes the time to write a review and ask three of their connections to do the same.”

G2 Crowd recently launched a new charitable initiative called G2 Gives, a review program committed to raising funds for those in need. The company is in the process of ramping up the program after having secured a major round of funding that includes $30M from high-profile investors such as Accel and LinkedIn.

“We built G2 Gives specifically for projects like this one, where we can turn opinions into opportunity for the students of ChiTech,” Marty Duffy, director of research at G2 Crowd, said.

This campaign is a great way to give back and to support the next generation of tech industry leaders enrolled at ChiTech.

“The future of Chicago’s tech industry can be found at Chicago Tech Academy. These are future leaders and innovators in our community,” Duffy said.

For the ITA, this partnership means taking a wider perspective on the future talent pool in technology careers.

“We hear everyday from our members that it’s tough to find top tier talent, much less diverse candidates who can creatively problem solve and bring innovative ideas to the table,” Julia Kanouse, CEO of the ITA, said.

“To solve our talent challenge, we must take a long-term view, one that starts early and reaches beyond traditional channels to build our future. Through creative initiatives, like this one, we can help ChiTech Academy build the next generation of tech leaders.”
