CHITECH STUDENTS MEET INTERNSHIP SUPERVISORS AT DDB

January 26 — On Monday, January 30th, four Chicago Tech Academy students will kick off our February Senior Internship Month with their first day at DDB, a global advertising agency.

These students, Devante Jordan, Julian Sample, Dominic Hines and Tijadah Nelson are thrilled to get their feet wet in the advertising game. DDB hosts clients as big as State Farm Insurance and Jeep, and have provided a huge sandbox for our students to learn in.

At a lunch meeting with their supervisors today, the students shared their excitement and asked important questions related to professionalism in the DDB culture. Michelle Auger, the director of human resources, facilitated the pizza lunch. With her guidance and the help of DDB staff, the students are well-prepared for their first day on the job.

Student interns are matched with mentor-like supervisors in departments related to their interests. Mr. Jordan will join Brant Herzer, Art Director. Mr. Sample will be coached by Becca Hannan, Account Supervisor. Miranda Phelps, Operations and Project Management, will show Mr. Hines the ropes. Lucky Ms. Nelson will be mentored by two team members, Molly Madden in New Business and Administration, and Christine Greismaier in PR.

“I’m so excited to get started and get creative,” said Mr. Jordan, who was all smiles after the meeting.

These opportunities were provided by community partners like DDB for ChiTech’s Senior Internship Month beginning in February through ChiTech’s Real World Learning programs.
